Authentique petal power ......

 Happy Sunday everyone! 

 Where is time going?  I can't believe that Valentine's day is over for another year Mother's Day is just a couple of weeks away and yippee --- Craftwork Cards have launched and opened their factory outlet shop with a dedicated area for craft workshops, (am soooo jealous of all the lucky people who live near enough to visit) how time flies - before we know it, it will be count down to Chrismas again............. lets not go there just yet, eh!!!

Anyway, the important things,  a big thanks to our lovely customers who sent pics of  their wonderful valentine cards which Tina and I showcased over the past few weeks.  We love to see what you are doing with our fab products so keep them coming .  I promised a gift for the best but I couldn't choose myself so I got my friend to pick her fav yesterday and  -  drum roll pls....... ta dah....... and congratulations to.......   Ali Wiseman whose pink card for her hubby was Sapphire's favourite, so Ali if you could please send your address to  cardsandcandi@hotmail.co.uk   I will get your special gift in the mail.  And then Sapphire said that the others were so nice too and persuaded me, as there were only 4 others, to give them a little token each, so ladies its your lucky day!!!! Please let me have your full names and addresses too.

Down to my little project for this blog, and it was a special work of love for me. I don't often get to spend Mother's  Day with my Mum as she lives in Ireland but this year she is arriving for a nice long visit just a couple of days before so what could be more befitting than to make a special card for someone who is so fabulous and sooooo loved, oh and a box to house the card too!!!

My stash of the beautiful Authentique papers arrived just on time and I chose Uncommon Gifted and Distinct (available to order now at  (http://www.craftworkcards.co.uk/default.aspx)  these are really beautiful in every way and the real bonus is that the reverse side is  not just block colour, it too is a beautiful contrasting design.  I 'stole'a heart card from a mini kit, a box from my stash, some lovely CWC embossed white paper, 'bling' embellishments,  a punch or two along with some dies (you can just use punches), stickles, pearl paint, a couple of stamps, ink pad, ribbon, a pokey tool or three,  lots of adhesive and a whole lot patience....  I've moulded so many petal layers this week that my right thumbs is cracked at the corner,  sore!

I covered the card with embossed white card stock (this gives great strength too), made a double bow and popped it at the top of the heart and then the petal moulding started and continued for quite some time.....! Once I had enough flowers I started to arrange on the heart with a couple of leaves here and there, then some little flutter by's (giving me lots of ideas!!) where you have flowers  you'll have butterflies, a dab of starlight stickles on the butterflies, some bling in the centre of the flowers on the heart and pearl paint on the others.  Printed a little pink 'Mum' sentiment and job done....... Now for the box.

Very simple box, a square of paper on the top with some cut down doilies along one edge, a stickled contrasting butterfly, a flower, some leaves, stamped  and cut out a tiny 'Mother's Day' tag, some ribbon around the edge of the lid and one box ready.  

And there you have it, Maureen's Mother's Day Card, lets hope she loves it!!
